Best Baby Shower Gifts on a Budget

Having a baby is a precious time for all expecting mothers and can be an equally exciting time for supportive family members. As much as I love going to baby showers for other expecting moms, it was even more fun to go to our own baby shower a couple months before our first son was due! An Amazon baby registry is a simple and quick way to have a list of items you need. People can look up your name and due date and see all your items listed and order them right away! You just can't beat the convenience of it. My only dilemma was wondering what to put on my registry since this was our first child and I didn't want to put a huge list of expensive items that people couldn't afford.

After almost two years of use, I have made a list of my top five most used items I received from my Amazon baby registry

#5 - Wansview Baby Camera - This baby monitor is one of my top picks after a lot of research. The price is fairly affordable for the quality. It connects to an app on my Iphone so I don't have to try to keep up with two different screens. It works anywhere you have WiFi connection so while we were away on our first overnight trip we could check in on him to see if he was sleeping well at night. The fact that I could see him gave me some reassurance while being away. You can move the camera picture around the room on your phone. It has night vision, sound and voice settings, picture and video capabilities.. it really does it all.

#4 - Skip Hop Moby Bath Tub- This bath tub worked perfectly and we used it from the newborn stage until he was ready to sit up by himself in the tub. I loved how it cradled a newborn in two different stages. I also loved how it fit right on top of our kitchen island, which made bath time a smooth and simple process from set-up to clean-up.

#3 -Back Seat Baby Mirror  - Do all the first-time moms a favor and buy her this mirror so she can see her baby from her rear view mirror and prevent some reckless driving. I still use this today, which I believe has prolonged our 18 month old's enjoyment of a rear facing seat since he can still see some things out of this mirror.

#2 - Baby Muslin Washcloths - These washcloths are the softest things ever and make newborns so happy compared to original washcloth brands. We still use these today and he still loves them. We also got so many bath and grooming sets like this one, which have lasted us and were a very helpful and practical gift.

# 1 - Wubbanub Pacifier - I put a couple different kinds of pacifiers on our registry because I didn't know which one our baby would end up taking to. He ended up not having too much of a preference on nipple style, but we soon discovered that it was a constant battle to keep it in his mouth at night. As soon as the paci fell out, he would be wide awake and crying.. insert Wubbanub pacifiers!! They have the toy on them which make them weigh down just enough to stay close by once the baby falls asleep. If your kid becomes as attached to it as ours did, they will have it until they are a one year old who can bite holes in it.. but never fear!! Just slowly cut off the pacifier part until it is just a lovey toy and they still have something sentimental to hold on to. We had three of these and all of them were well loved.

(You can never go wrong with an Amazon Gift Card if you cannot decide between these five items)

Amazon will also become your best friend once you have your kid and are too lazy to go to the store for anything besides groceries. As I write this post, I had an amazon delivery come to my door... I hope this will help some expecting mothers get practical gifts for their sweet babies. I also hope it will help those who are shopping for friends.
